is therapy for you?

People go into therapy for many reasons. These can range from coping with the death of a loved one, to coming to terms with childhood abuse, to overcoming patterns of behaviour that have become stuck, to bringing about positive personal growth. Sometimes, the problem is even not knowing what is wrong, just that it’s unbearable.

Reasons for going into therapy can include exploring: depression, traumatic events, soul sickness, addiction, chronic fatigue, work related problems, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, stuck patterns of behaviour, relationship difficulties, abuse, self-harm, dramatic personal change, panic attacks, bereavement, sleep disorders, psychosomatic symptoms.

Of course, people don’t always know what it is that’s bringing them into therapy. Sometimes it’s just knowing that you need help, or that something needs to change, and feeling drawn to therapy as a way of getting support in doing that.

If any of this resonates for you, then you might benefit from therapy.
